Croatian Conservation Institute – Leading Partner
The Croatian Conservation Institute is the central institution in the fields of research, conservation-restoration, protection, and preservation of cultural assets in the Republic of Croatia. It was founded in 1997 on a merger of the Institute for Restoration of Works of Art (founded in 1948) and the Conservation Institute of Croatia (founded in 1966). The Institute is financed from the state budget and closely cooperates with conservation departments of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage Protection of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, as well as with professional and scientific institutions in Croatia and abroad.

The Bavarian State Department of Monuments and Sites is responsible for the conservation of all kinds of cultural monuments in Bavaria (160.000 monuments). The institution is subjected to the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Science and Arts. It was founded on 6th September 1908. From the beginning a workshop with restorers was part of the function. That means that in 2016 the institution can look back to more than 100 years of experience that has been documented in our archives.

The Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia was founded in 1999, under the then Cultural Heritage Protection Act, and united the 7 regional institutes for the protection of cultural heritage and the Restoration Centre. The Institute comprises the Cultural Heritage Service with 7 regional offices and the Conservation Centre with 2 organizational units – the Restoration Centre and the Centre for Preventive Archaeology. They perform public services in the area of the protection and conservation of immovable cultural heritage with the related movable and intangible heritage.

University of Ljubljana is the oldest and largest higher education and scientific research institution in Slovenia. University with its rich tradition was founded in 1919. It has more than 40.000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and employs approximately 5.600 higher education teachers, researchers, assistants and administrative staff in 23 faculties and three arts academies. The central building, all three academies and faculties are located in the center. Some of the most recent and modern buildings were constructed on the outskirts of Ljubljana, giving the university and its students a ubiquitous presence in the city.
