Study Visit to Slovenia

After the technical group meeting in Austria, from 14th till 15th of March, project partners continued their study visit in Slovenia, organized by the University of Ljubljana and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia. Partners visited the Regional Museum Maribor where they had the opportunity to inspect works by Joseph and Philipp Jakob Straub.

On the second day of the visit to Slovenia, partners went to the church of St Joseph in Slovenska Bistrica, where the main altar, attributed to Joseph Straub, is located. After a lively discussion, they continued towards Ptuj, to see the Church of St George and the Minorite church and monastery. The trip was concluded by a work group meeting to discuss the Straub monograph and plans for upcoming events.

Final discussion at Ptuj

The TrArS project is dedicated to the study and presentation of artworks created by members of the Straub family in 18th century Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. This website is being updated regularly and reflects the current state of the ongoing research.
