Study Visit to Austria

From 12th to 14th of March, partners from Austria, Croatia, Germany, and Slovenia, working on the Tracing the Art of the Straub Family Project gathered in Graz for the technical group meeting and a study visit, organized by the University of Graz. The partners had an opportunity to visit the Cathedral and Church of Mariahilf, both located in Graz, as well as several locations in the region – the parish churches in Birkfeld and Ehrenhausen.

Apart from visiting locations with works by Philipp Jakob Straub, partners were invited to take a tour of the restoration workshops of the Universalmuseum Joanneum, where they had the opportunity to closely inspect some works by Philipp Jakob and enjoy a lively discussion with experts from the museum.

The entire visit was concluded by a trip to Ehrenhausen, where partners, apart from visiting the parish church and the mausoleum, had a reception with the mayor Martin Wratschko and they had the opportunity to present the Tracing the Art of the Straub Family project. From Ehrenhausen, the study visit continued to Maribor, Slovenia.
