Straub Workshop in Graz

On February 8th and 9th 2018, Dr. Eva Klein, Prof. Margit Stadlober and Dr. Dagmar Probst from the Institute of Art History of the University of Graz welcomed the representatives from Croatia and Slovenia as well as colleagues from the University of Vienna for an international workshop as part of the EU project "Tracing the Art of The Straub Family". The meeting was devoted to the joint study of the works of the Straub brothers as well as the intensive exchange of research results.

The database on the Straub family was published and the platform trars.eu is now online and will continue growing.

The concept of the publication and the individual topics were developed and coordinated during the editorial meeting held as part of the workshop.

The joint visits of the Straub pieces focusing on the Graz cathedral (Grazer Dom) and the Mariahilfer church were led by Prof. Margit Stadlober and Dr. Dagmar Probst. The workshop was supplemented with a visit to Rein led by Dr. Elisabeth Brenner. A final discussion at the University of Graz with well-known art historians, such as Prof. Günter Brucher, Prof. Götz Pochat and Dr. Ulrich Becker was also held. Furthermore, the cooperation with the Universalmuseum Joanneum and the Federal Monuments Office should be mentioned with the participation of Dipl. rest. Bernhard Paul Eipper and Dr. Hansjörg Weidenhoffer.
