The high altar of St Henry in the Church of St Henry in Pohorje, Frajhajm

Members of the Slovenian team (V. Pavlič, S. Dolinšek, V. Benedik) visited the Succursal Church of St Henry for the first time in April 2018. Our focus was the high altar, attributed to Joseph Straub. We documented the altar and made a small on-site study for the purpose of collecting and documenting the artworks made by the members of the Straub family.

The Third General Meeting in Bavaria

The Bavarian State Department of Monuments and Sites hosted the Third general meetingof the project entitled Tracing the Art of the Straub Family which included the study visits of the expert group for technical research as well as the experts for Johann Baptist Straub. The team of the Institute headed by Rupert Karbacher organized a coordinating meeting, expert presentations, a meeting of the editorial board of the monograph as well as field rounds on January 22nd and 23rd 2019.

Study visit to Vienna

Partners from Slovenia, Germany, Austria and Croatia met on 27 and 28 November in Vienna for a study visit and a joint working meeting of the technical expert group and expert group for research into the work of Johann Baptist Straub. The gathering was admirably organised by Julia Strobl, MA, Professor Ingeborg Schemper, PhD, and Elena Holzhausen, MA. The partners had the honour of being joined by Professor Peter Steiner, PhD, one of the most distinguished experts on Johann Baptist Straub.
