TrArS has been kicked-off!
By gathering of representatives of all partner institutions on the 20th and 21st September 2017 in Croatia, implementation of the international cooperation project “Tracing the Art of the Straub Family” has started. At the kick-off meeting held at the Croatian Conservation Institute in Zagreb, representatives from Austria, Croatia, Germany, and Slovenia reported condition in their countries. The participants gave an overview of artworks attributed to the Straub family, based on archival documents and comparative stylistic analyses. They also presented state of preservation of the artworks and methods of their conservation, particularly in case of ongoing or recently finished conservation works.
After the initial introduction and country reports, participants discussed the best ways to approach research and agreed on the system of gathering and inputting data into an online catalogue. Expert groups for research of specific subthemes of the project and their members were defined, as well as a fieldwork plan in all four partner countries.
Zagreb meeting was supplemented with a joint field practice. Analyses and discussions were held at the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows in Prepolno, Church of Blessed Virgin Mary in Taborsko, Church of Our Lady of Jerusalem in Trški Vrh, and the Church of Our Lady of the Snows in Belec.
Several days later, from 4th to 5th October 2017, the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) organized a group and individual consultations with Creative Europe Programme project leaders. Representatives of the Croatian Conservation Institute, a leading partner on the TrArS project, also participated.
