Presentation of the International Project “Tracing the Art of the Straub Family” in Varaždin
On Thursday, 10th May, 2018, the international project Tracing the Art of the Straub Family was presented at the Varaždin City Museum. The audience was greeted by Tajana Pleše, PhD, director of the Croatian Conservation Institute, and Anera Štopfer, head of the Creative Europe Desk at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, who presented the Creative Europe Programme and other European Union funding opportunities for culture sector. They were followed by project coordinator Andrea Šimunić, who presented the Tracing the Art of the Straub Family project, and the project supervisor Ksenije Škarić, PhD, who presented the project website and its features, as well as the art database and its application in research and promotion of cultural heritage. The presentation of the project was concluded by Julia Strobl from the University of Vienna who presented field activities and historical and art research that are part of the project.
Guests were then invited to an organized visit do St. Florian's Chapel where Teodora Kučinac, supervisor of architectural works, and Edo Anušić, supervisor of conservation of the high altar, presented finished conservation and restoration.
